To protect the taxpayer, Auditors examine the efficiency and effectiveness of programs and review the financial condition and operations of the Department of Energy.

OIG Inspectors review, evaluate, and analyze Department programs and activities; conduct non-criminal administrative allegations; review Whistle Blower complaints and operate the OIG Hotline.

As a Criminal Investigator, you will perform investigations into allegations of fraud, waste, and abuse in programs and operations of the Department and NNSA with priority given to investigations of suspected violations of criminal and civil statutes, as well as serious administrative misconduct. Particular focus is placed on the prevention and detection of contract and grant fraud; environmental, health and safety violations; computer crimes; and issues that reflect on the integrity and credibility of Department and NNSA officials.

Qualification Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- A Bachelors, Masters, and/or Doctoral degree (or due to graduate in that school year)
- Other education requirements, and/or work experience relevant to the position
- Security clearance
Your salary level and pay grade will be determined by your education level, relevant experience, and job location.
